We've started a sort of half Christianity. I don't know how it came about, I only know that's what it is now. The first Christians, in the Bible, sold everything they owned and pooled it together to support all the believers. Sounds a little like communism, but with Jesus as the head of the group, there is nobody taking more than anyone else. If we tried it today, it could very well work. But we couldn't have any of the half-Christians we seem to have now. I should know, I'm one of ...

Insurance companies have gotten it into their head that they can monopolize the industry of healthcare by choosing for us who can give us care, who can't, what proceedures can be done, and every other medical decision we can make. Of course, if you don't have an insurance company and pay cash up front, I'm sure you can get pretty much any proceedure done. What I want to know is, why do they limit our choices? Why can't they write a straight-up policy that says, "We will pay for the med...

As I drive to work, I listen to my radio. My radio is my friend. It tells me about the traffic, the weather, the local and national news... it sings me songs. Sometimes it even tells me jokes. It tells me all about the latest, greatest products. But lately, my radio has been a little sad. There's a new kind of radio out there, called HD Radio. I think my radio wants to be an HD Radio. It keep mentioning it, about how BMWs come equipped with HD Radios. About the crystal clear sound. ...

I think I may have a solution for the social security crisis. First off, STOP SPENDING OUR SOCIAL SECURITY MONEY ON OTHER THINGS! Put it in a separate account that you cannot touch for anything but Social Security. Next, get rid of the employer's portion of social security tax. Lastly, remove the upper limit on it. Tax every dollar. Not only will it be simpler, there will also be a lot more money coming out of the rich's pockets, while no more comes out of anyone under $80k or whateve...

The self denying, no enjoyment, not thinking about the reward attitude of Christian men and women today is so sad. I wish I could say that it isn't the attitude I have, but currently, I'm still there. The truth of Christianity is shocking. So many say, "Oh, if I am to be a Christian I will have to give up sex, drugs, and rock & roll, or whatever other fun I'm having, I must deny myself any enjoyment of anything." If that is your attitude, you are severly limiting yourself and your God...

A man gives his servants different amounts of money to invest. To one, he gives 50,000. To the second, 20,000. And to the third, 10,000. He leaves for a couple years, and comes back. The one he gave 50k now has 100k. He says, woohoo. The one he gave 20k now has 40k. He says, great job. The third had still 10k, because he buried it in a mayonaisse jar in the back yard. So, he takes 20k from the first, 10k from the second, and gives 5k to the third. The remaining 25k is given to ...

A pregnant woman. What characteristics define this noble creature? Hormonal, of course, and as it should be. Lacking in brain power, quite forgiveable, as the blood that normally visits there is now taken by a new life, which is such a beautiful thing that one can only smile when she forgets her phone number, where she left the car keys, and sometimes, her own name. Women who would never have this kind of problem under any other condition, any other stress... In other words, a pregna...

I love my job. Every once in a while, while going through a file, I will come across something that I think is extremely important, that might make our case. Then, I show it to a superior and say, "Look what I found!" I think my instincts are pretty good with this stuff, but sometimes I'm just way off. It's very rewarding, though, to bring to their attention something that really throws the case off, like a pre-existing injury in a accident case, or rounds of golf on a GHIN card while s...

A lot of people seem to struggle with the concept of free will vs. destiny in Christianity. A lot of times, I think that people refuse to admit just how big God really is. A lot of times, free will is thought of as the ability to make your own decisions. You have that, for sure. God said so, in His book. But he also said some other things which sounds very contradictory to that. He mentions, in His book, that He knows all the names of those who will be saved. Every saved person is know...

I think there's something missing in the curriculum of many schools these days. Sure, they teach people about certain fields. But what seems to be lacking is communication of that field to others who need to know. What I'm saying is that, in my curriculum as an accountant, I learned how to speak in the accounting language. But there was no course that taught how to relate that back to people in other fields, specifically managers. Now, in a college with accounting and business managmen...

I always wondered why the Bible said anything about the treatment of widows, but now I understand. The system in America, capitalism with welfare, isn't perfect, but it sure beats the system in Egypt. See, in America, everyone who wants a job has a chance to apply for jobs. In Egypt, that is not so. In Egypt, if you are a widow, you: -Can not own property -Can not work -Must be supported by your relatives or beg -Live on the street, or in an apartment without running water, heat, ...

So, we got government health insurance through the state program. It's really nice, don't have to pay for anything, except a premium. Of course, it only covered my wife, because she was pregnant. So when we went to the hospital, she was covered, sure (they did not cover the midwife, of course, that had to come out of pocket) and then we get this bill in the mail, for our son's care. Well, hmm, we applied for that, and lookee, I see on the website that we should be qualifying not only for ...

I am ashamed of newscasters. I do not have cable at home. I'm currently staying in a hotel. As I flip through the few channels we get here, CNN Headlines is a channel that I see. However, the only news that was on yesterday, every time I flipped through, was Lindsay Lohan's arrest. ... Who is Lindsay Lohan, a very lucky individual might ask, that she should be the only story on CNN Headline with the ELECTION CYCLE STARTING. Wasn't CNN a respected news source? Is CNN Headline an ...

Well, this was certainly a big deal to me. I've never been out of the office, or really dealt with any insureds in a meaningful way. But this time, I went out on a document gathering mission. To their credit, this insured was very cooperative and had everything basically laid out for us. We're shipping a box home and have left orders for them of what to copy for us. I've gotten a lot of time with the boss this week, which is a good thing. He's a great guy, very smart, knows about stuf...

After playing the original Guitar Hero game for PS2, I checked into some of the artists of songs I like and found that they had done even cooler stuff. Here is a list of the artists and the first song I heard from them on Guitar Hero. Audioslave - Cochise Eric Clapton (Cream) - Crossroads Boston - More Than a Feeling ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water The Donnas - Take It Off Stevie Ray Vaughn - Texas Flood David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust Out of those, ZZ T...
