I've been playing Dark Cloud 2 pretty recently for the past couple weeks. As soon as I opened the box I couldn't stop playing it. Is it the engaging story I crave, like most games? Heck no. The dialogue in this game is so cheesy that I can eat plain macaroni while playing it. The story sequences are voiced, which is great, but all anyone ever says is "Yeah! and Right!" They also explain everything twice, which is really condescending I think. The main character is kinda dumb. He does...

So, during Finals week, also the week that JoeUser shut down due to the GalCivII launch, I completed my degree. But, between finals, all I did was interview! I had two interviews with search agencies, and two with actual companies. The actual companies were Stanley Bostitch and Putnam Investments. The Stanley Bostitch interview was basically a run down of what the job would be, and then questions about how my experience would apply to it. Since I have no experience, it did not take lon...

So it's finally here. My last day in the Learning Center at my University, and I'm feeling weird. You see, I've never actually left a job before. This was my first job. So, there are people here that I will probably never see again. We were coworkers for 2 years, but we had more fun together than work together. Appointments are all one-on-one, but when we're not working, we do crosswords and Sudoku together. My wife, to celebrate and thank everyone for being so great (they threw me a...

My baby hates to go down for a nap. The only way he'll do it is if we feed him and he gets sleepy. But, he only gets sleepy twice a day. He's 3 1/2 months old! He should be taking naps every hour and a half! He gets really fussy at night, but he doesn't want to go to bed then either. Then, when he wakes up, it's like, 4:30 am and he is up for the day. Needless to say, I am not, and neither is my wife. I wish he would sleep later, but I can't figure out how to get him back to sleep. A...

So I got a chance to play Guitar Hero at Best Buy yesterday. It reminded me of why I don't play the guitar for real. My hands just don't move fast enough. I'm sure with practice I could get faster, but I don't even have a guitar to practice with. I can get through most of the easiest song on the easy-medium level. It's very difficult for me to focus on two things at once, let alone strumming, hitting buttons, and watching the screen so I know what buttons come next. I felt like I was ...

Ah, inventory. Lots of businesses have it, so how do we account for it? Well, under the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP - If anyone works for GAP and sees a misprinted shirt, I will so buy it.) the answer is... it depends. There are four different methods of inventory valuation. They are: First in, first out (FIFO) Last in, first out (LIFO) Average Cost Specific Identification Under the International Accounting Standards, LIFO method is eliminated. W...

I love Harvest Moon. I don't know why it has such an ability to draw me in. I just love the idea of running a farm. I want to plant crops and grow food and own animals. I want stable prices for my produce. I want cows that eat one square of grass per day. The stability of it all is just wonderful. At the same time, I'm just sitting there, getting absolutely nothing in my life accomplished. I will leave the game world, where I have done all my daily chores and gone to town to see m...

My wife went to Wal-Mart for our son's 3 month pictures. These pictures are very important to her, and when I saw how cute he looked, to me too. Well, we bought two packages. One came out great, just fine, but the other had a thumb print on it. A thumb print on the entire package, so every photo was ruined. The print did not show up on the computer screen when she picked out which poses she wanted for the packages. It was a bigger package, too. So Wal-Mart gave us some extra 5 x 7 pi...

I am graduating from college in about... oh, 2 weeks. I do not have a job. I am an accounting major, and I really need a job to support my wife and son. So I was working at my part time gas station gig, and a lady comes in and buys something. She asks me if I want to get out of this job, and I said 'yeah, of course.' She tells me her company is looking for people and that she would give me a call. (first sign) I gave her my number and she calls and tells me they're having an open hou...

I recently read the entire threat of "So, I'm Going to Hell" by JillUser and most of the comments. Since the rule of blogging seems to be to come up with a topic and go without knowing the answer quite yet, I'm just going to go with it. The question I am posing is, "Jesus is the exclusive point on what eternity will mean for any given person. Can I explain this without quoting the Bible?" God loves us. He loves to show his love for us. He gets angry at us, but mostly because we tend t...

Welcome to tax season! I am an Accounting major, and I am graduating very soon. Looking for a job, too, but that's beside the point, unless you're looking for an accountant. I recently learned that, under the rules of the American Institute of Public Accountant's Code of Conduct, if I find a mistake on someone's previous tax return, I am supposed to tell the client about the error and leave it at that. Now, a mistake is unintentional. Nothing illegal about making a mistake on your ta...
