Women are often forced to have surgical proceedures they don't even want connected with pregnancy. How come, when a woman wants an abortion, it's all about her right to her body, her right to have a choice, but when my wife wanted to have a baby vaginally, the doctor told her she would have to have a C-Section? Where your choice now? Where's your control over your own body? How can there be a choice to kill your baby, but if you keep that baby, your right to choose goes out the window...

Here's one for my professionalism file. As a forensic accountant, I work on litigation files. I'm not allowed to even discuss them with my wife, never mind posting stuff about them online. Yesterday, I found out a report I was responsible for regarding a litigation case was sent to the wrong address. Luckily, it was not sent to opposing council or anything. It went to a completely unrelated party. I had given it to the admin to bind it and send out, and she had bound it, and given...

I use to trust doctors, but recently, I've found that they are just normal people who happen to have gone to school for so long they can't remember any of their instruction. I went to college with kids who could pass tests without learning anything, I'm sure doctors do it too. Vaccines are not working. Sure, disease rates have gone down since vaccines were introduced. No-one catches polio anymore. Is that because of vaccinations? Most likely, no. In fact, the only polio cases we expe...

"What do you do? I'm an accountant. What company do you work for? Oh, I don't work for a company. That's your definition of success. I do it for the numbers." -Rob Paravonian As an accountant, I measure the success of businesses every day, in dollars and cents. To judge a life likewise, however, is not a full picture. Success in life has many different faces. Some people want that money out of life. Some want recognition, and some want power. Usually, when gaining one of the...

Disclaimer: None of this should be considered actual accounting advice. If you need accounting advice, please hire a CPA firm to give it. This article is just to give a general idea of what I do, and what issues might come up in a business interruption claim. Use of any of this information is at your own risk! Business interruption insurance is usually linked to the trigger of property damage. If there is no damage, there's no business interruption. Of course, there are a few other...

It's already starting. Our freedoms are beginning to be infringed upon by legislation, and it's only going to get worse. When the nation began, there was no need for so many laws. The people had self-judgement, based upon the scriptural principles that were held dear by the founding fathers. While they may not have believed that Jesus saves, they did believe that the Bible held the principles for governing a nation. The Constitution of this nation is only as morally strong as those who...

If women agreed on everything, they could form a 'Woman Party' and rule the US. There are more women in the United States than males, especially of voting age. Why haven't they voted a woman into office yet? Probably for the same reason we haven't voted in a third party candidate - nobody has ever taken a serious run at it. What I wonder is, will women vote for a woman simply because she is a woman, or will they be more likely to choose based on platform? And, will men vote against a w...

It is my opinion that the lack of male leadership in households is the real reason behind the massive increase in divorces. A lot of women these days think of male leadership as sexist. "A man, lead me? Hah!" they say. Let me tell you this, then. There is nothing better for a woman than to have a man in control of her. Women have a more emotional brain, while men have more rational brains. There, I said it. There's a difference between men and women. Ooo, kill me now. Anyway, wo...

There are two doors here, and I don't know which way to go. I know one leads back to a place I remember, a place I know. It is not a perfect place, but I'm... comfortable there. I've been through that door many times now, and each time I enter I lose a little more of my natural exploratory tendancies. I know that every day I go in there, I will be back here, with my two doors to face. They will always be there if I go through that door. But every time I do, I know it is getting less a...

Recently, someone joined JoeUser and posted an article. This article contained a salvation message. While I am for the salvation message, obviously, there are ways of going about delivering it that definitely trump this one for sure. Basically, what he was saying to us was that he cared about our souls, without bothering to even become part of the community or even see if people were already in this mission field. For one, the title of the article was spelled wrong. How imprtant can yo...

Lately, the church has been doing some things. The church has been going through political channels in order to make certain things that are considered by them to be immoral, also illegal. Or, more to the point, to keep them illegal, in order to "save America." Well, as someone recently pointed out, America is NOT a chritian nation. However, one of the founding fathers, John Adams, had the following to say of our constitution: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious p...

Link "THE LAWSUIT CITES data collected from states by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, saying that in five of the six years between 2000 and 2005, Rhode Island had “the single highest rate of substantiated child abuse or neglect occurring to children in foster care among all states that reported data.” And those rates “far exceeded benchmarks set by the federal government.” In the 2004 federal fiscal year, 1.32 percent of foster children in Rhode Island were maltreate...

Today, I noticed I did not have an official "Welcome" article. So I am going to rectify that now, by sharing the story of how I came to be a part of the JoeUser community, and my thoughts on my beginning. Long ago, in a time when Stardock was a tiny Michigan based company - well, not that long ago. But it was a time for Iraq, and a time for indie development of computer games. For some reason, I knew who Brad Wardell was. Some project or another of his, around this time, made me want t...

My mother-in-law, who has been married 4 times, has decided to get married again, to a guy she met online two and a half months ago. This marriage is to commence in two weeks. Based on her recent dating history, it could very well break up (with police being called) within this time frame. However, my wife says that he seems like a decent guy. I haven't met him. I'm all for finding someone to spend the rest of your life with, but doesn't it take longer than 3 months to really know fo...
