Women are often forced to have surgical proceedures they don't even want connected with pregnancy.
How come, when a woman wants an abortion, it's all about her right to her body, her right to have a choice, but when my wife wanted to have a baby vaginally, the doctor told her she would have to have a C-Section?
Where your choice now? Where's your control over your own body? How can there be a choice to kill your baby, but if you keep that baby, your right to choose goes out the window over how to have it?
C-Sections are major surgery. It extends recovery times to about twice the time you would recover in with a vaginal birth. Yet mothers with children previously born by C-Section are often not even given the choice of having a VBAC(vaginal birth after caesarian). It's ridiculous. I believe women should have the choice. I think, if you research the risk and understand it, you should be able to take the risk. Do you know what the risk is? I did. My wife did.
Because of this refusal to treat my wife as a human being with a brain, she did the only thing she could do - she abandoned the doctors. We hired a midwife instead, and planned on having a birth at home. She had a vaginal birth, not at home, but because she had been able to do most of the labor at home, they took her seriously about a VBAC when we went into the hospital.
So why can't women have choices over there own care? I don't know. It really doesn't make sense to me why a doctor would want to operate without a need.
