Hey guys.  There's a site called VideoGameGeek and it's looking for representative images for the games in the database.   http://videogamegeek.com/geeklist/162992/vgg-goals-rep-image-for-top-2000-ranked-games-/page/2 ?   Sins Entrenchment and GalCiv Dark Avatar are both on the list.  Can you please upload some images over there? Thanks!

I really want to somehow express why I enjoy this game, but I can’t.  I can’t because of the way this sort of game is.  It takes you, gives you simple tasks to do, and provides rewards for achieving them.  It also rewards you just for playing the game – any sailing will give you XP.  If you make money by trading, you get XP.  If you battle, you get XP.  Let’s not talk about battling yet though.   In Uncharted Waters, you sail aroun...

For a while now I’ve wanted to design a ‘game’.  I won’t say it’s really a game.  I think I’d like to play around with it, but it seems almost like more of an economic simulation than a game in the strictest sense.  At least, in its current state it wouldn’t be a game.   The basic premise?  There is a town.  In that town, there are people who own different businesses.  These businesses will, given raw materials, p...

Many fat years continued.  Things continue to go on much as before.  Ewa and Kayden eventually reached the top of the political spectrum, becoming mayor of the town.  However, he was only a Citizen, and later a Free Citizen, leaving the Imperial level handily out of reach.  Money poured in, and was invested into making the Tavern an Inn, one of the fishing shacks a hut, and the bakery also increased in level but I can't remember what to.  The family continued to b...

For some reason, Kayden continued to gain fame while Ewa did not.  This resulted in her being Guild Master of the Patrons for several years, followed by Kayden.  The house we fit these people into was upgraded to a Gabled House.  Sierra and Kayden both started courting, trying to find suitable mates.  Tragedy quickly struck again as the plague clung to Sierra, as Sierra clung to life. She made the best of it, quickly marrying an old Scholar, hoping he might be able to disc...

Jay had always wanted to fish.   He’d never wanted to service the drunkards of the world, or grow crops, or any of the other terrible duties that went with being a patron.  No, Jay wanted to fish.  So fish he did. He wasn’t sure exactly where the seed money had come from.  His mother had handed it to him when he came of age, telling him she had saved a coin or two every day for him since the day he was born.  He now had 10,000 of those coins, and a drea...

Stardock is creating a new Massively Multiplayer Online Game called Society. One of the biggest problems with such games is that the world goes on, so that new players and old players are playing at the same time. So, conceivably, a new player with nothing is up against a player who has been there for a couple years, knows how to do everything, and has more soldiers than the newbie can even dream of. This leads to a lot of newbie bashing, farming, and exploiting, which tends to drive new...
