Virtua Fighter 4, Smash Bros.

At one point, I had friends who also played video games, and did in fact do so with me. These days are long gone. However, I feel like reminiscing, because I should be working.

I love the even matches, the Epic Battles as they should be called, that would sometimes occur between us. I was involved with two of them.

A friend of mine owned Virtua Fighter 4, and so did I. So, we both tend to be about the same in skill when it came to it. This made it one of my favorite games to play against him. Every time we would go at it, neither of us knew who would win. In fact, for the most part, every time he won I won the next one, and vice versa. It made it all the more fun. Just in case anyone knows of VF4, I played Aoi and he played Jackie. Aoi is a character with a lot of reversal moves, while Jackie is a character who moves fast and has a lot of quick kick moves. So I would have to anticipate when and what level he would come at me in order to properly reverse him to do major damage. I guess I got it about 50% of the time, because when I was doing that I would win.

The other Epic Battle was not really an even match. My friend, a different friend, owns Super Smash Bros. Melee. This is a wonderful game. He always played Samus, and I would play as Mario or Dr. Mario. He had a habit of shooting missles at me, and I had a habit of deflecting them right back at him. I got so good at deflecting that attack that he had to stop using it as his main attack. When we played heads-up, he would always win, save one or two times (very much cherished) but it would always be a lot closer than anybody else could get to him, mostly because of that loss of ability. I don't believe anyone else in our group could beat him, though they could all beat me pretty easily. After all, most of my training was against Samus, and no-one else could play her like he could.

I love the battles between friends that come up. Multiplayer games are the best kind, when you have friends who can play with you. Please, share any epic battles you may have had, with any game.
